Product Description Fancy taking some GREAT quality pics underwater Then Read on... If you re planning to go on holiday honeymoon to an exotic location this is a must for you perfect for the naughty or not so naughty underwater shots This great camera is waterproof to ten meters and offers a brilliant six megapixel. Shutter speed is 1 1 2000 second so it works superbly for action shots and in low light. It can record and play back small video clips too. Internal memory for the cam is 16MB and there is an SD slot for additional storage. Naturally you can transfer pics via USB 2.0 and the cam is PictBridge enabled. The LCD display is a two inch job.

Brief Comment December 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've just received this camera and although I can't comment on it's underwater quality until I get back from holiday I thought I'd mention the fact that, contrary to the technical information given here, it DOES accept 2GB SD cards. The manual says so and I've tried it out myself. I have lots of 2GB cards but ordered a 1GB on the basis of the spec given here and wouldn't want anyone to waste money doing the same. First impression is good, especially given the price but there is good assessment, and examples,in other reviews.
Nightmare!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA December 1, 2008 We bought the Vivitar camera for our 7year old daughter as a good rugged kid-proof first camera...unfortunately connecting the camera to our computer system caused a major computer crash (destroyed the windows registry, eliminated previous restore points etc.) and has required professional help to get it sorted! We have not managed to establish why the camera does this, the fact that Vivitar went into recievership and were bought out over the summer means that there is NO TECHNICAL SUPPORT for the camera. In addition within a week one of the buttons on the back of the camera became stuck... All in all very dissapointing for something thats seamed to be just right, is in fact a disaster. DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA.
Blue Screen problems November 10, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought a Vivicam 6200W to go snorkling in the Galapagos Islands. It worked well, giving very acceptable results, both in still and video mode. On this basis it was good value for money. It is however difficult to see the sceen underwater, although the wide angle makes point & shoot quite successful. The problems started when I returned home and tried to load the pictures on to my PC, which uses Widows XP. When installing the driver from the CD, the computer crashed, leaving me with a blue screen that could not be cleared. The computer was eventually restated, with some difficulty, by a computer engineer, but immediately crashed again when restarting the computer after the driver was installed. From entries on google, others seem to have had similar problems. After taking the engineers costs into account, this has been an expensive purchase.

Ease of use November 7, 2008 Bought this for the kids as it looked rugged and waterproof means they can use it anywhere. As mentioned it is heavy and the mode buttons are a bit difficult to press and are close together. The zoom is a bit complicated (only digital)you press the button once to zoom a bit then again to zoom more before it goes back to no zoom. Again short on buttons means its a pain to navigate menus, but guess thats the cost of being waterproof. It looks like it will last them but they may get frustrated. A great package though with batteries and a nice padded case, but maybe not the ideal for Kids.
Great Buy! November 6, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great camera - it does exactly what we hoped. Fantastic photos while snorkelling. Easy to use, definitely rugged as described. I wouldn't buy this as my primary camera, but as a second camera for the beach or anywhere near water this is great. Does video clips too (though only low resolution). Came with a case.
